Transplant Transplant: The Novel Book Cover

This novel reflects both my interest in facial transplantation and my discontent with the manner in which this controversial subject has been covered in the media. Reports in the press have focused almost exclusively on the benefits of a new face for grossly disfigured people, with little attention to dangers inherent in tissue transplantation. In this book, you will meet young and attractive Jenny Beaulieu, a software engineer, who, after a severe auto accident, must learn to cope in the terrifying world of the disfigured.

Beyond the Shadow of a Doubt Beyond the Shadow of a Doubt Book Cover

This book, as others in this series, has been dubbed a legal thriller. In this context, the novel does seek to entertain as do most works of fiction. Since readers know who the real villain is as of the prologue, the mystery lies in how an innocent man accused of murder can be plucked from California's unforgiving prosecutory machine when evidence against the defendant is iron-clad. The subtext in the novel underlines the injustice of capital punishment given the number of executions in the US of people found afterward to be not guilty of the crime.

Stolen Child Stolen Child Book Cover

In the first book of this series, readers learn of the abduction of a California eight-year-old child who is never found. Authorities believe the young girl to be dead or trafficked. In this sequel, Divinity is discovered to be living with adoptive parents in a town in eastern Georgia. Defense attorney Forrest Spencer has been engaged to confirm the identity of the child and to assist in her recovery. But Divinity is traumatized by the prospect of returning home.

About Gerald Neufeld

Heather, my sweet wife, likes to talk about the difference between a passion for something and a compulsion. Is she concerned that I spend less time making goodies in the kitchen that she likes and that I see too little sun? Is she worried about the accumulation extra pounds and my growing attachment to my keyboard? Thank who or whatever created this wild world of ours that she cares. Otherwise, I might find myself one day permanently adrift in one of those fictitious worlds we novelists inhabit.

Lest I convey the wrong impression about my spouse, she is my greatest supporter, the lady who, almost daily, insightfully feeds back to me about my ideas. No writer could want a better muse.
